SOUTHERN CIRCUIT- TANZANIA TOURS
Summary
Tanzania – a vast and mystical land with breathtaking scenery ranging from the snow-capped
peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro to the plains of Serengeti National Park and one of the world’s seven
wonders – Ngorongoro Crater. Just off her coast, lies the magical clove Island of Zanzibar with its
intriguing blends of historical ruins, white beaches and winding streets of old Stone Town.
With a climate as varied as her landscape, Tanzania offers visitors a wealth of experience. This,
combined with the warm and friendly welcome of her cosmopolitan people, makes Tanzania an
irresistible destination.
As custodians of Africa’s most spectacular wilderness, the Tanzanians are fiercely protective of
their natural heritage and an incredible 25% of her land area is conserved under National Park
status. These parks, famous worldwide for their beauty, profusion of wildlife are home to 20% of
Africa’s large mammal population and are safe havens for rare and threatened species such as
Black Rhino, Cheetah and Painted Wolves.
9 Days - Standard Southern Safari (Mikumu, Ruaha,Udzungwa,Selous)
DAY 1
Arrival at Dar es Salaam airport and transfer to Peacock Hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 2
After breakfast, depart for Mikumi National Park. Lunch at Genesis Lodge. Afternoon game drive
in Mikumi Park. Dinner and overnight at Genesis Lodge. (Located outside park)
DAY 3
After breakfast, collect packed lunches and depart for Ruaha National Park. Picnic lunches served
at Isimila Stone Age Site in Iringa. Afternoon Proceed to Ruaha National Park. Dinner and
overnight at Tungamalenga Bungalows. (Located outside park)
DAY 4
After an nearly breakfast, collect packed lunches and have a full day game viewing around Ruaha
Hills, valleys and the Great Ruaha River. Picnic to be served in the bush. Late evening drive back
to Tungamalenga Bungalows for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5
After breakfast, check out and depart for Udzungwa Mountains. Stop for lunch at Kitonga Inn Hotel
located at the foot of the famous Kitonga Mountain. After lunch continue to Udzungwa Mountains
National Park. Dinner and overnight at Udzungwa Mountains View Hotel.
DAY 6
After breakfast, collect packed lunches with porters and guides and start the gentle trek of the
Mountains leading to the Sanje waterfalls. This exercise needs people who are relatively fit.
Several view points are found on the climb where people can relax before continuing the trek.
(750m above sea level). Picnic lunches to be served on top of the falls. Early afternoon descend to
the Hotel for shower, relaxation at the bar. Dinner and overnight at Udzungwa Mountains View
Hotel.
DAY 7
After an early breakfast, collect packed lunches and drive to Selous Game Reserve via Morogoro
Town. Late afternoon game drive on the way to Ndovu camp or Hidden Paradise camp for dinner
and overnight.
DAY 8
Full day of Game viewing, boat safari on the Rufiji River. Picnic lunches in the bush. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
DAY 9
Early morning walking safari before breakfast. After breakfast, check out, collect packed lunches and drive back to Dar es Salaam. Late afternoon arrival at peacock Hotel for a day room, shower and get ready for the flight. Early dinner at the Hotel before transfer to Dar es Salaam airport for the flight back home.
15 Days - Superior Southern Safari (Mikumu, Ruaha,Udzungwa,Selous)
DAY 1
Arrival at Dar es Salaam airport and transfer to Peacock Hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 2
After breakfast, drive to Saadani National Park via Chalinze and Mandera on the Dar/Arusha highway. Lunch at Saadani Safari Lodge. Afternoon boat safari on the Indian Ocean or Wami River. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.
DAY 3
Full day in Saadani with combination of game viewing and walking safari. Picnic in the bush. Late afternoon drive back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4
After breakfast, proceed to Mikumi National Park via Morogoro town.Lunch at Vuma Hill Camp.
Afternoon game drive in Mikumi Park. Dinner and overnight at Vuma Hill Camp.
DAY 5
After breakfast, have another half day tour of the Mikumi Park. Lunch at the Camp. Afternoon drive
to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Visit of some Income generating projects in Msolwa
Village funded by WWF and Tanzania National Park Authority.
Dinner and overnight at UdzungwaMountains View Hotel.
DAY 6
After breakfast, collect packed lunches with porters and guides and start the gentle trek of the

After breakfast, drive across the Udzungwa chain of Mountains to Ruaha National Park via Iringa
town for lunch. After lunch proceed to the RuahaPark with an evening game viewing in the Park.
Dinner and overnight at Jongomero Camp or Mwagusi Camp.
DAY 8
Another full day of game viewing still in Ruaha Park, famous for its herds of Elephants and Sable
Antelopes. Meals and overnight at the camp.
DAY 9
Still in Ruaha with combination of game viewing and walking safari if the grass is not too high. Picnic at a campsite near the Great Ruaha River. Late evening drive back to the camp for dinner and overnight.
DAY 10
After breakfast, check out and depart for Morogoro. Short visit of the Isimila Stone Age site. Lunch at Kitonga Inn Hotel located at the foot of the famous Kitonga Mountain. After lunch continue to Morogoro town located on the foot of Uluguru Mountains. Dinner and overnight at Oasis Hotel or New Acropol Hotel.
DAY 11
After breakfast, continue to Selous Game Reserve. Lunch at Impala Camp or Selous Safari Camp. Afternoon boat safari on the Rufiji River. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
DAY 12
Full day of game viewing and walking safari if the grass is not too high. Visit the famous Hot Springs and the Selous Grave. Picnic in the bush. Late evening drive back to the camp for dinner
and overnight.
DAY 13
Another full day exploring the immense Selous Game Reserve. Meals and overnight at the camp.
DAY 14
After breakfast, collect packed lunches and visit the primary school at Mloka village outside the Reserve. Afternoon enjoy a local dance performed by Zaramo tribe people leaving at Mloka Village. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
DAY 15
DAY 15 After breakfast, check out, collect packed lunches and drive back to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival check in at Peacock hotel for a day room. Lunch, dinner at Slipway before transfer to Dar
es Salaam airport for the flight back home.
